Instead of writing a big, long thing about how I also dabble in quilting, I was just going to post a picture of the first ever quilt I ever attempted, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. So here is the big, long thing instead. I have a very large quilt that I am putting together from an old mattress topper I took the sides off of, but that one is more tied than quilted because of it's size and my equipment limitations. My third planned quilt is actually a set of two matching twin size quilts that are going to be the first major project for my 1904 treadle machine once I get that back into fighting shape; fabrics are all picked out and everything, all rolled up together and rubber-banded (you folks call them "elastics", right?) ready to go when the time comes.

Love the sound of all of that!! yes we call them elastic or rubber bands - fairly interchangeable.

I got into quilting during the lockdown. I couldn't work so I'd sew. Discovered EPP (English Paper Piecing) and feel in love with handsewing each little piece together. My first quilt was one of Tula Pink's subscription. Receiving a bundle of fabrics each month to make up blocks was so exciting and there was no pressure to finish them. Just took my time.

Now on my next quilt, the Dream Catcher. Only just started this one and enjoying the different shapes and colours it's creating.

That sounds so lovely, I think EPP looks the perfect pick-up/put-down project!

I'm working on the Dream Catcher quilt. It's hand sewing each piece of the pattern using the EPP (English Paper Piecing) method. Nice and slow and great to work on in the evenings between garment making.

I started patchwork and quilting in 2014 following a serious illness. Since then I've made a number of quilts and cushion covers. I make a lot of baby quilts as they are quicker to make.

In 2017 I made a large sampler quilt for our bedroom, but as I was finishing it my daughter asked if she could take it to uni - she still has it.

Oh that's really lovely that she wanted to have it! Are you working on anything at the moment?

Yes, I'm working on a project for my friend's special birthday later this year - it also involves my embroidery machine.

I would say that I dabble in quilting/patchwork.

I began in 2021 after a long stay in hospital and return home, while I was getting back into 'shape' before returning to work.
I made some Christmas themed placemats and table runners.

I then got into making clothes

I love African wax print fabric and I've managed to get some off cuts to make some sort of quilt or blanket.

My first ever attempt at a quilt, entered into a quilting competition at a quilt shop in a town (the one I live in now) three months after I moved here. I lost. But- I made a grand entrance that people still remember!
