I'm not sure. You wouldn't want it next the skin I think you have to experiment to find what suits you. I used some technical wicking fabric that I had left over. I think that any soft cotton would work.

I made my daughter be outstanding overalls by Ellie and Mac. Very easy. I added pockets. Made them couple years ago, and she stillwears them ( i dropped them hem to make them longer)
