Bag making

Hi I'm Gram D aka Deb or Debbie.  I love all crafting related things, but today I  received a big boost for my bag making.  I usually make them for gifts and have sold a few, but today while getting my haircut, the owner of the salon noticed my bag and asked if I sold them (I  had made one for my stylist and she told her I  made my bag too).  Anyway she asked if I would like to sell them in the salon.  We have more talking to do, but I'm so excited!  Are any of you bag-makers and what sells for you?  I'm in Michigan,  USA.  Thank you.

Hi Deb, ooh that's so exciting!! For me, with a child in tow I'd be looking for practical as well as style - pockets and big enough to hold a bottle of water and some snacks! 😂

Oooh the possibilities are endless - you'd definitely have to narrow down to a couple of options I think that bring you joy as you sew them... especially knowing how much else you have going on!!

Hi Debbie, I make bags too- in between dressmaking. I mainly make bags as gifts or to raise money for charity and I'm always on the lookout for fabrics from charity shops to keep costs down. Toiletry and phone bags are my best sellers but I've sold quite a few tote style ones. It's these small items which got me into dressmaking along with the encouragement from Hayley!

That's awesome Diane.

I like to try new things too.  I've made coin purses and cork checkbook covers also.  It is so much fun.

Keep sewing.
