Of the many different creative pursuits I have tried and thoroughly enjoyed in the fabric and fiber arts, weaving is right up there in terms of "I would do this as my job" status. Closely linked to that is tapestry making, and sliding further along the continuum towards quilting (but not quite there) is fabric/ multi-media collage wall art. I have done a few things in all of these, so I am interested to see who else is out there.

Weaving/ tapestry/ wall hanging.

This sounds great, would love to see a photo if you're happy to share? I've not done any weaving or multi-media are since school - I can imagine them being lovely creative persuits

I am going around today and getting photos of my assorted projects in these various crafts, starting with crochet, which I am mere minutes away from updating. I have a few sample swatches and a larger piece that I have woven, and I may still have a wall art piece that I started working on in late 2021. Keep a weather eye, Hayley - I hope to have something to show soon.

Thank you so much for sharing Lelan, it's lovely to see the different things the sewing community enjoy working on

This looks like such a satisfying craft!! They look fab

Thank you for your compliment.
It is very satisfying, bordering on therapeutic. These pieces are from different sized frame (table) looms, but they are both made from combinations of yarn and thread. Using yarn for the warp (the lengthwise threads) does get a bit tricky when it comes to maintaing the width of the finished piece, as yarn stretches more and is more likely to draw inward when placed under tension by the weft (side-to-side). I stopped weaving some time ago because I didn't have a suitable place for my looms, but I am now in a new apartment, and I have just finished setting up the fiber/ fabric/ tinkering room, so I may return to it.
