Pattern storage ideas

hi everyone, my issue is disorganised patterns. i have tried various storage methods but nothing seems to solve the problem of piles of envelopes on my floor with patterns in . i want to be able to find a pattern easily and have a method of selecting favourite makes to try again but i will admit its a mess atm 🤭

I'm afraid my storage isn't much more organised. I keep all my patterns in a pull out box that fits in my Ikea Kallax unit

I use the Nordli drawers from IKEA for patterns and it works really well. Pdf patterns that I printed, I store in paper folders (pink is tops and yellow is dresses) makes it a bit easier to find a pattern ☺️

It's taken me a while to find something that works. I do still have a 'want to make' pile on my desk but I know if I put them away they might not get made 😀

I store my patterns in folders, filed in numerical order. This refers to a lever arch file where I can flick through while having a cuppa and pondering my next make. Behind the pattern in the file is a notes page on each make.

I have mine ( mostly pdfs) in plastic poppers envelopes, on an ikea tall narrow shelf unit that fits in the corner. Roughly in alphabetical order.

I use trello to browse the patterns, so I don't have to keep pulling them out.

It's an app. You set up a board with 'cards'. You enter any info you want on the cards, including photos. Tags to search by and any links , comments, project planning etc

I have photos, line drawings, tags (ie jersey or woven fabric) and a link to any tutorials, and a link to my Google drive where the pattern is stored.

There are videos on YouTube , just search for how to use trello for dressmaking patterns.

It's a bit of a job to list the ones you already have, but as I buy a new one I add it straight away.

I have several places I keep my patterns.  Paper patterns in envelops are stored in a file cabinet.  The paper printouts of pdf patterns are stored hanging up on a rod in the closet.  PDF patterns are on my computer.  I use Threadloop to track my pattern and fabric stashes.  I really like that app.

I use A4 plastic wallets for my. PDFs.   I recently bought a small thermal printer and have put labels on each wallet with a small line drawing of the garment.

Thank you.  Funny - I'm on my way home to cut out the Bonnie top - from the photos - out of my check fabric.  Husband wants me to do jobs - but I've said absolutely not - "I'm sewing" 😀
