Charmeuse silky satin - never again

I've been hours cutting out a shirt dress in Charmeuse.  If I didn't love the fabric so much it would have gone straight in the bin.  What a nightmare to cut.  Despite using all my fabric weights, plus tins of beans and heavy books, it slid all over the place.  No idea what it'll be like to sew, I need to take a break from it

Keeping everything crossed that it doesn't cause you too many problems when sewing it.

I have read somewhere about using tissue paper to help stabilise it for sewing that it easily removed.  not sure how you do it but 🤞 if it could work x

I'll try that, I haven't got to the sewing part yet, I've moved on to making some simple cotton tops as I'm still traumatised from cutting out my pattern with Charmeuse lol.

Oh no!!! 🫣🫣 have you ever used spray starch? It can help give a little more stability to the fabric whilst you cut and sew and then washes off. Just test it on a scrap first
