How to make this blanket?

Hi I was wondering if someone could help with advice for a beginner.

For the blanket in the photos the main fabric is polyester, then it has a soft material sewed onto the edge. As a complete beginner how would I make a blanket like this?

I don't know if you buy the edge material complete with the soft inside or it all has to be attached by the person making it- does anyone know what it's called, I tried googling but couldn't see something exactly like the edge shown in the photos,

Thanks

Most likely this will be a bias binding made from the makers choice of fabric. You can get bias binding in the shops but most commonly is polyester or satin. But you can make your own from any fabric by cutting strips on the bias - which is diagonally on the fabric - if you search how to make bias binding you'll find loads of tutorials

You can buy bias binding makers. This link is to Amazon as it shows the cheap set which I have (bought at a show). Other sites like sew essential have rather better quality individual makers.

Looks like ribbed knit trim with an overlocked edge that was used as binding...Just a guess!
best of luck with the project!
