Lost my sewjo

I've been a sewist for a long time and a machine embroider for a few years.  Problem is I lost my sewjo.  I was working on a complicated and time consuming project and lost interest.  I set it aside and have not been motivated to work on it or start something else.  Any ideas on how to get motivated again? Has this happened to you?

Oh that's so hard when you loose your sewjo, we've all had those times. Working on such a complicated project can definitely have that effect, especially if it isn't going well or you're not interested in it.

There's a few things I would try -

give yourself a break, sometimes its best to step away for a bit, maybe try a different craft to reinspire your creativity - bag sewing can be great as there's no need to worry about fitting

try a "quick win" project like a sweatshirt, t-shirt, pj bottoms something like that to get yourself.

Take yourself off to a fabric shop, even if it's just some window shopping.

Join a sewing group, you might have one in your area or of course we have our online ones - you don't have to sew during the session, you could do another craft or some people enjoy using the time to tidy their sewing space or iron some fabric. It's lovely just to be with other people chatting about sewing.

This has happened to me. This week I have been sorting through my fabric stash, and washing any which haven't been pre-washed. Seeing my fabrics on the line is giving me ideas for new projects.

Yes, I think sorting my fabrics will help.  I was gifted bags of quilting cottons mostly small pieces and they are all in a bin.  I'll work on that.

I did manage to make a small project for my friend.    The changing weather and wanting something new to wear my help too.  Thanks.
