Hi, I'm Chris and this is my first venture into the broader sewing community. I have been a solo sewist for about seven years and have never had the courage to interact with the broader community. Everything I have heard makes me feel that I am missing a great opportunity for compansionship so here we go.
Baby Steps

Welcome Chris! This is a lovely community, full of friendly and supportive people.
What kinds of things do you enjoy sewing?
Hi Vicki
thank you for replying. I enjoy sewing all manner of things, garments, bags and small quilting projects. Currently I am making the Closet Core Seninna Jacket in some beautiful pink denim. I travel a bit so it will probably take me a while to complete this garment. Like most people that sew I have a list the length of my arm of garments I want to make and more fabric than I will probably ever need. I am currently trying to destash some fabric that I bought early in my sewing journey but haven't found the right outlet just yet.
I was watching Hayley's video yesterday and was sad that the subscription boxes have ended. I did subscribe for a period of time but had to stop as I had too much fabric. I am glad that she has started this community and I am looking forward to participating. Also looking forward to the Sewing Bee.
Thanks again and take care.

Hi Chris, welcome to the community, I'm so happy you're here and really touched that you've chosen this forum as your first venture into interacting with the sewing community. We are a really lovely group and everyone is here to lift each other up!
I love the sound of the pink denim jacket!
Thank you Hayley that is very kind of you.
Welcome Chris, I recently join this forum as well looking for people that enjoying sewing (I'm new to sewing). I have enjoyed participating in the online socials everyone is very nice.
Hi Laila
I am pondering joining the socials I just need to find the time. I hope you are enjoying your sewing. I have found as my confidence grew so did the pleasure I had in the finished garments. I also discovered that I enjoyed other sewing crafts and bag making. It's nice to diversify sometimes especially to something that does not require fitting. Its great that we can make clothes that fit us but also sometimes a curse.

I love that, It's definitely a lovely change of pace to sew a bag or accessory that doesn't need any fitting!
I'd love you to join the sewing socials, we have a range of different days and times coming up, hopefully you can find one that works for you.
