I am glad to be on here and will be joining some virtual chats too asap. I have been sewing for over 30 years but it has always been a rather solitary activity for me. My mother taught me and it was a hobby we shared, but sadly I lost her last year and I am struggling to get back into it despite having semi retired and having more time. I am also kind of dreading the new GBSB (there will be one yes?) as we used to watch it together. So time to be a bit more social and join in more. I have also used some of my inheritance to invest in my sewing room and I need to use it to its full capacity before it becomes a museum piece! I had a spontaneous moment and have booked to go on the IzzoSew Studio retreat in September. So a different way forward.

Hi Kazzie, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss, that must be so hard. But sewing can be a wonderful way of remembering her as well and honouring the passion you shared. Sounds like you are taking some great steps already and how exciting about the retreat!
I have all my fingers crossed that the sewing bee will be on a Tuesday and then in Wednesday's sewing socials we can have a good natter about each episode, so if you'd like someone to share that with we are here for you
