Did you get any sewing gifts this year?

What Sewing Goodies Did You Unwrap?

Oh yes. I was spoilt rotten with an Overlocker. I also got in my pressie pile some really pretty fabric weights and some tweezers to help thread the overlocker! My husband was thrilled with my reaction xxx

Wow!!! What a great pressie!

My daughter gave me this thread holder as I was forever digging around in my sewing box for a spool. Took me ages to hammer in the dowels though! So this afternoon I shall be loading it and at long last having tidy threads!

That's really cool! Any idea what make it is please?

She bought it off Amazon. There is no manufacturers name on it or the box that it came in.

Thank you! My Brother in Law gave me an Amazon voucher for Christmas!

oooh that's a thing of beauty!

My family and friends know me too well. New fabric pinking shears and rotary cutter with fabric only tags. The Fleur pattern from Fabric Godmother. Gutterman threads and vouchers. Really happy.

Ooh that's a great haul!

I got a wooden clapper (long wished for!) - maraflex thread selection and a pincushion in the shape of an iron. V spoiled!!

A very good selection!

I was lucky enough to be thoroughly spoiled, my wish list was gifted entirely! An overlocker ❤️. mini iron and folding mat, cutting mat and books and patterns. I'm truly grateful for my wonderful family who support me in my hobbies and interests

Oh wow!! That's amazing, you're all set up for a great year of sewing now

I was such a lucky girl this Christmas, my other half surprised me with a new sewing machine. I was saving to get one for my big birthday in August this year, I was so overwhelmed and grateful.

Oh that's so lovely!! What machine was it?

Oh wow what a lovely surprise! Which machine did you get? X

Love love my new BotherA150
My son got me a new mini steam iron to save me from battling with the ironing board in my small sewing space

Thats really thoughtful!! for a sewist thats such a great gift

I didn't ask for any sewing gifts this year but my husband got me a voucher for my local fabric and haberdashery shop, plus loosely sewing related but I also got a sewing charm keyring from jazz and wow on my sibling secret Santa! Looking forward to spending my voucher :)

Oh they are lovely gifts!

I was gifted two more boxes of pattern weights from Foxglove & Field. I found the one box I had wasn't enough and I ended up using pins too which rather defeated the purpose! I love seeing them lined up and they're very tactile. I think the Liberty prints help!

I love them, they are so pretty!
I received a twelve days of Christmas box with notions and accessories so I'm still opening. So much fun!

oooh that's so much fun! Was it a DIY gift or purchased from somewhere as a whole gift?

Santa knew my old ironing board was purchased when I was a naive beginner sewist and it was, can we say it - crap. He brought me a 4 layer plush, extra wide, extra adjustable dream board! My daughter, who is a bit cash strapped, went to an antique sale and found a rack with 100 thimbles from around the US. Only we could undrstand the excitement of getting sewing related tools. Lol

I got £40 Jenny stitches voucher from my mother-in-law, £100 1st for fabrics voucher from my husband.
He also got me a tool box for the Prym Vario tool that he bought me for my December birthday.
Oh and a friend bought me some small sewing scissors. Blessed 🤩

My Dad bought me the Prym Vario for Christmas- well he gave me the money and I ordered it 😀
Not had chance to use it yet

I haven't used mine yet either. 🤣

Its brilliant......Im so pleased with it

My husband bought me a lovely new iron (obviously I steered him in the right direction)

Oh wow the colour is amazing

Yes I got an Olisso pink iron and some Crafty Pie fabric such a lucky lady I am!

Oooh which fabric was it? Love the Crafty Pie fabrics!

Well I can't remember the name of it but it's a cream viscose and it feels as smooth as butter

So pretty!!

My daughters boyfriend bought me a pair of electric scissors. lots of practice needed before I touch any decent fabric with them.

I love electric scissors - we use them for cutting fabric for the boxes and I have used them a few times to cut patterns with long straight lines... wouldn't trust myself at corners though

I need to get them out of the box and use them properly. I usually use a rotary cutter for longer straight lines but I'm not overly successful on the corners - so will definitely need to practice on straight lines with my electric scissors.

Hubs bought me a Prym vario creative tool.....had a go at snaps and its so good!

I am so excited to use mine!

You'll love it. I just tried out on some scrap fabric. Tip is to make sure you understand the right order of the snaps.

So exciting! 🤣🤣🤣 it's like you know me really well lol I am bound to get them in the wrong order. Multiple times 🙈

I got a pink Olisso iron which I have wanted for ages but it was too expensive for me to buy. And some beautiful Crafty Pie fabric
