Thoughts please

Thoughts please. I made this Sinclair patterns bondi tee very early in my sewing journey. I didn’t finish is as it felt too tight across the bust when I tried it on. It was at a time when I thought that all stretch fabrics were created equal and that cotton jersey stretched the same as viscose jersey!

Anyway, trying it on now, it feels snug but OK and I love the colour. It was meant to have 3/4 elasticated sleeves but, as we head in to the autumn/winter, I wonder if I would get more wear out of it as a long sleeve.

What do you think about adding long cuffs? Would they look ridiculous? I have another bondi with long cuffs but they aren’t as not as long as these would be alternatively I finish it as intended and make a puffy sleeve cardigan to wear over the top. TIA

This looks lovely! How about, instead of a cuff you add a contrast colour fabric to the sleeve to make in longer, you could do it at an angle to make it intentional. Then you can either hem or add a cuff in either of the colours

Thanks Hayley. Decisions decisions. Someone else suggested a contrast on a different post but I just can't visualise it. Plus I haven't got anything in my stash that would work I don't think. I may leave it as 3/4 sleeve and wear a chunky knit over the top. Or baste on cuff on and see what I think.

I think it looks good as is. A too long cuff may look a bit off proportionally but a deep enough cuff to make it wearable would be fine - perhaps to mid forearm.

I think it is fine as is and the colour is good for you.  I've seen patterns where a very full sleeve is balanced by a long tight cuff (eg Itch to Stitch's Busan top), but that might not work with a more standard sleeve.
