Big and Tall lounge set

I made this for my rather large son who is 6'8" tall with a 54" chest. Everything I have made for him before has had to be lengthened and quite often widened as well so I was happy to find this pattern from Simplicity. Big and Tall 1505.

I did the size 3x straight out of the packet and it fits him well.

I had some black fleece to use up for the trousers and I found the skull fabric at Oh Sew Crafty when I called in last month. I decided to use the black for the neck binding rather than the skull as I thought the contrast would be better.

After I'd finished the sleeves I found they were very wide at the wrist so I fashioned a long cuff for them and made a thumb hole again using the black fabric.

As well as elastic in the waist I put in two buttonholes and have used an extra long boot lace as a tie.

He claims they are the most comfortable trousers he's ever had and puts them on as soon as he gets in from work. It's a very easy make so I'll probably make more of these for him.

The photo isn't very spectacular as I couldn't decide how to show them to their best advantage!!
