Well, after much angst the jeans are finally finished. The third pair this year and the most problematic. I'm going to blame the denim!!
These jeans fought me every step of the way. The pattern is my much adapted to fit me unique jeans so I knew they would fit but blooming heck did I make a meal out of making them. From day 1 things went wrong - putting the pocket yokes on the wrong side, sewing one front pocket correctly and the other to the outside etc and then the fly!! Oh dear me, the fly......
I had just sewn two flies with no problem. Very neat and tidy. But this time!!!! It took me three attempts to do it, I even watched YouTube tutorials to see what I was doing wrong - nothing, I was doing them as I usually did and as the tutorials recommended. The number of times I walked away and left it was mounting. Even at the end when I was adding the waistband I had to undo some of the top stitching and rearrange the fly seams. Sailor words may have been employed.
But they are finished! Yay! I tried them on and they were a tad snug...... However, I tried wearing them for a while and they eased up so hopefully they will be OK. Thank goodness these are now out of the way. No more jeans for a while. I think three pairs since January 5th is enough.
