Bridgetown Ball 2024

upload-2047-1770391748-w6Tw6Nxsmi.jpeg

As promised here are the dresses we made for the first time to the ball organised by Richie Wedge who was in Series 8 of the Great British Sewing Bee (he is in one of the pics with me) - he went out on ep3 :(.  I made my dress from a Butterick 6586 but didn't sew the front pleats as far down which created the Regency vibe from a Jacquard using the reverse side, it frayed as soon as it moved.  It was a fun night out and a fabulous weekend.

I agree it looks great.  I've stayed away from Regency balls because dress making seemed to intmidating.  It didn't occur to me use a modern pattern.
