Using the Sylvie skirt as an example, is there a good way to work out how much material you would need if you want to use multiple different fabrics for say, the panels, given patterns usually only tell you the total amount you need?

Any tips for sewing this pattern with a fabric prone to stretching? Given a lot is cut on the bias, I've found a lot of my panels didn't match up properly or were very different lengths at the end.
Amy makes such beautiful garments. I wonder if they have any interest in going in to pattern design?
Also, could Harriet tell us some of the process behind their exclusive fabric range - what does it look like from an initial concept to actually releasing a collection?
