Who's started on their March make - Sylvie Skirt?

I began mine this week and chose the WORST fabric. It's so slippery and already stretched out of shape just ironing it, so I fear it's not going to go together well, especially with the strict seam allowances.

How's everyone else getting on? It wasn't fun cutting out SO many panels hahaha.

I'm with you there Han, cutting all those panels! Ended up with a bad back from bending over for so long! I'm using February's classic pink fabric which also stretches more than I thought it would, and frays a lot, so I thought I'd do French seams. They're all done eventually but need pressing, maybe tonight at the sewcial. 😀

Oh yes the fabric I've used is similar. I'm going to the sewcial tonight too where I'm hoping to attach the waistband and see if it's going to come together okay!!

You ladies have made such great progress already! Han - I saw on instagram you just have the hem to do which is amazing - all those panels will pay off when you have your deliciously twirly skirt!

You will get an email from Hayley . It's shipped on the 6-8 of the month and depending where you are a couple days from royaL mail. I'm in the states so mine takes a bit longer a couple weeks but it's always worth the wait .

I have cut mine out. I used a fabric that has been in my stash for lots of years (approx 10) I have no idea where it came from. I would have been fine if I had left the shirt skirt shirt, but I lengthened them by around 3 inches, and didn't have quite enough fabric. It is sort of peach feel and has a nap. 2 of the panels will have a join around 4 inches from the top, but it is cut out.

I've worked out I can just about get away without the zip so I'm a happy bunny! Just got the elasticated waist bit to go- of to buy elastic tomorrow.  I had some lovely deep purple self patterned african wax print waiting for the perfect skirt pattern- I think I might have enough to make the Ferne top too so it'll look like a dress.

All of my panels are sewn together and I'm going to finish it tomorrow. I actually got my seam allowances correct.
