I have almost finished my maxi dress version with the square neckline, bishop sleeves and side ties in a beautiful viscose twill i've had in my stash for a couple of years from Roo-Tid. But I also want to make another version of the top in a plain white viscose slub I got from 1st for Fabrics last month.

I love the pattern but being a technophobe I never get pdf patterns as I don't know how to get them printed!

if I did it would open up a whole new world I know!!

when you purchase a pdf pattern you get the links emailed to you - you need to save the instructions file and the pattern file that you want to print (sometimes the come in two size bands, and the files will also include A0 to get printed or print at home). You need to save them to your computer.

I like to get my patterns and instructions printed, somewhere like CLC Prints but I know there are others. The fold line will print the pattern but not the instructions.

The other option is a lot of local printing shops will print A0 patterns for you to pick up. Possibly a touch more expensive but easier as you can usually just email them the files and they will sort it for you.

if you need any extra help let me know and we will work out the best way to walk you through it

I've made the top version in some batik style fabric, I love it and I'm planning a maxi dress next 😊

Well I have some gorgeous bright green Brodie anglais but I think the holes in it are too big and will show my undies and wobbly bits! Trying to find something in the same green that I can line it with.

I've already made the Emily dress (Short length, square neckline and bishop sleeves) in a Lady McElroy Viscose Challis from a luxury box a couple of years back.

I just wanted to direct people to these two YouTube videos that myself and my Northern Sewl Sisters did, all about the Emily pattern:

a bit late to the party as I had other makes on my list! I'm planning on a v-neck, bishop sleeve maxi in a viscose lawn. I decided on the bishop sleeve as the fabric is very light, so I'm not sure it would hold the lovely puff ball sleeve. Paper pattern is all cut out, so I'm on a mission to make it up this week!
