Zadie jumpsuit HELP!

I'm hoping this wonderful community can help! I'm on my second Zadie jumpsuit and I'm scarred for life! Here is my tail of woe....

My first last year was a toile and it didn't really fit, but it was towards the end of the summer and I had winter makes on my mind and I decided to try again this year.

So all prepped and ready to go,  a lovely black linen viscose (this could be my first mistake) but I carried on regardless cutting it out marking the front and back as I went.

First problem I put one of the pockets on the wrong way round, twos of unpicking (black on black!) and we are motoring again.

My legs are a little different in size and oh yes I forgot to cut the crotch to the right size and now it looks funny ( why did I realise that after I had sewn up the sides and overlocked🤦🏻‍♀️)

Carry on regardless too late to turnaround now! Adding the top the bottoms in realised that only one side needs to open 😳 out comes the unpicker again ! That resolved let's try again adding to the top to the bottom, we'll the seams match around 55% the other 45% are cousins rather than direct disendants!!

Now on to the binding, with slippy fabric and thin binding we get 80% of the way round with a stiff drink and a couple of prayers to the sewing gods! Only to run out of binding and having to remove all the binding, cut an extra stipe, attach it the right way, repress and the ready to reapply!

And that is where you find me, my question do I carry on or make it a sacrifice to  Janome and Brother gods? To ensure success in my future makes!'?

Oh Kirsten... what a story!! I feel like you are so close, but the tale of woe may hinder your enjoyment of wearing it. On the other hand it might turn out great and the effort will have been worth it.

But... if it's looking like it's not going to feel right on you when you wear it will you wear it?

Have you had a try on at this stage?

Thanks Hayley, it becoming  war of attrition. I have dared to try it on in case it looks terrible! And the I'll bin it straight away instead of finishing and taking the learning.   I do think it will look awful as I also forgot to add length to the legs and now they are wonky it will be even shorter! If by some miracle it looks ok (all but to short) I may go for the short playsuit look. Hoping to finish next couple of days, I'll share photos i promise

Well I added the binding to the main body, I did try to be careful but really my heart wasn't in it. I tried it on and I think with the right legs cut out and the right material it would be fabulous. Both of these are my mistakes so maybe next time but me and zadie do need some time apart

Well done for persevering with it Kirsten! I think it looks good from what I can see in the photos but clearly you aren't loving it so time out might be a good move!

So... what's next on the sewing table to get you back into the groove?
