Mabel TaTB

Hello, I hope I'm doing this correctly! I'm wanting to sew a Mabel dress for my nieces 21st and the theme is maroon. What is the best fabric to use please? I'm a very new sewer and have done the Mabel blouse as a practice and it fits lovely. It's in a cotton but I was wondering if it would work in a viscose but easy to sew viscose fabric mix maybe? Please forgive my ignorance! Can anybody please guide me to the nicest drape but easy to sew maroon (ish) fabric. Thank you in advance

Absolutely! If you try and find a viscose poplin - it tends to be a little better behaved than some of the lighter weight viscose.

Alternatively you could try a cotton/viscose blend - it has the drape of viscose but a little more stability.

Another thought is a good quality cotton lawn which is quite a fine cotton
