Hi Shelley, wow 5 toiles in - love the dedication! What alterations have you made so far?

From the photos the front is looks pretty good but perhaps some work is needed on the back crotch. Is that where you feel the problems are?

I agree with Hayley that the front looks good. The back is almost there. It could be the length of the crotch from front to back is a tad too short, try undoing at the inner leg join and see where the fabric wants to go.

It took me 8 toiles to get my crotch curve right so you're doing better than I did!

I confess that I gave up after 3 toiles and just made a pair up in the size that accommodated my largest measurement. I take my hat off to you. 💝

You may be used to wearing wide leg trousers. I'm not and that created a lot of confusion for my mind and body!! The toiles didn't feel or look right and I think it was just a styling issue in the end that left me feeling something wasn't right!

The only thing I ended up doing was taking the side seams in slightly at the waist, before adding the waistband. Now I've worn them a few times I do think the rise is fractionally too high front and back as I develop a little crease of fabric under the waistband as I wear them. It feels like excess fabric with nowhere to go! It doesn't make them unwearable but if I make them again I think I'd make a pattern adjustment to correct that. Otherwise the fit is better than I dared hope.

This doesn't address your actual question. I am sorry. I was just hoping to address the issues that stopped me making progress in case they might 'speak' to you!!

Looking forward to seeing the finished Ronsards when you are done!!
