Lining A Sheer Jersey Fabric

Hello!

Hope you are all well

My first post is a big ask. Hopefully you lovely folk will be able to help.

I have a super sheer Farm Rio jersey fabric from Rainbow Fabrics. Could anyone guide me to a tutorial to line it - I think I have enough to use the same fabric. I'm probably making the Friday pattern company Adrienne too.

Thank you

Laura

Oooh that's an interesting question, I've not come across many examples of a lined jersey garment... I'm trying to think how you might do that with the neckband on the Adrienne. I'm assuming it's only the bodice you'd line and not the sleeves?

Just the bodice. I'm thinking just double up the pieces and baste together? Any other suggestions! Xx

Nope, that's pretty much what I would do as well - baste together and then sew as one

I've also got a sheer Jersey fabric and was going to make that top by adding a small seam allowance, sewing two front (and two back) pieces together, turning the raw edges to the inside, and then use as if a single fabric. At least that's the plan goodness knows whether I'll ever get round to it 🤣

Thank you - I adore this fabric but my partner says you can see right through it! No one needs that. So I will take in the tips and try! X

I took the advice and interlined the front and back - it went well so I recommend this method! Thanks for the help x
