Hi, my daughter wants me to make her dress for her wedding ceremony in Mallorca next May. She would like a boho inspired dress with dramatic sleeves (but not puff). She likes the bodice of the Belle dress, has anyone hacked it to change the sleeves? Also I will need to do a FBA.
Style Arc Belle Dress Hacks
That is beautiful. I haven't useds this pattern, but think it won't be too difficult to hack the sleeves as the armscye looks standard. I have previously traced the armscye, added a little ease and transposed it onto another sleeve.
I have been looking to see if I can find the name of an old Style Arc pattern that had twisted sleeves - very dramatic. Unfortunately I have lost the original pattern and envelope - but lucky for me I had the pattern I had traced out, and so I can still make it. A quick flick through the Style Arc site doesn't reveal it I'm afraid.
These patterns are of costumes for Galadriel and Arwen, based on a Simplicity pattern. I thought of them as I recently saw some lovely LoTR home made outfits, with dramatic sleeves
Please keep us posted!
I have manged to find the tunic - it's called Sadie. This is the link to the Fold Line, as I think it is very clear.
Thank you, I'll update how I get on. We've got a couple of different bodices we're going to trial.
Oooh how exciting!! Love the idea of the boho dress - Deer & Doe have some lovely dress patterns too
