I have had some great fabrics from Rainbow Fabrics over the last couple of years, but is anyone else feeling that their recent stocks are expensive? After all, they source them from large overstock warehouses in Turkey. Understandably, there is often an element of risk in purchasing from them because they don’t have detailed information on fabric content, weight etc due to where they are sourced. The last few stocks are around £12.99 per metre. I know a discount is usually available, but the increased pricing is sending me off to retailers who give comprehensive details of the fabrics e.g. Guthrie Ghani, Minerva, Little Legs etc.

I can't say I've ever shopped at Rainbow Fabrics - apart from at their stall at the Stitch Festival a couple of years ago. But it's really interesting to hear your thoughts, I agree, I had thought they were meant to have more competitive prices, so I completely understand wanting to head over to the other retailers

I like you have bought quite a few fabrics from rainbow fabrics in the last few years, but nothing has appealed recently maybe its been the prices that's put me off? Their stalls at the stitch fest were so busy and when I did get to the front it was so cramped I found it hard to actually look at what they had. It really put me off.

Yes! I think their prices have definitely shot up, though the 20% discount codes help to bring it down again. I had vowed after the sale last year when it took about 2 months to receive my fabric that I’d never use them again, I was recently tempted again but the delivery again was very slow and the order incomplete so I don’t think I’ll be using them again.
I did look at their stall at stitch festival but it felt like a jumble sale scrum that I wasn’t tempted.

They currently have Broderie Anglaise listed at a higher price than some of the main fabric retailers and some is sold out - madness!
