I've just been listening to one of the previous guest recordings as I work this morning, and Hayley and Lauren (from Guthrie & Ghani) were talking about the garment swap rail that G&G offer at one of their open day type of events.

It got me wondering whether we could have a thread on the forum where we could offer our unwanted makes; that have been made with care and attention but then, for whatever reason, aren't for us personally when finished?

I don't know if Hayley and Andy would approve of this idea, nor if anyone else thinks the idea has any merit... perhaps it is just me that is still learning about style preferences and fit issues!

It's so difficult to know what to do with the items that aren't loved by us - but could be loved by someone else - even if it is just to harvest the fabric!

If this resonates with anyone, perhaps you'd share your thoughts.

I love this idea Donnie - I'm more than happy for a garment of fabric swap thread to be started and then anyone that needs to be connected privately I can facilitate until we can get something set up

I'll kick this off with an offer of an embroidered denim, Sew Liberated, Lichen Duster coat.

It's way too big for me (It's a size 16 top and the waist and hips have a huge amount of ease so would fit a larger size). I also have a length of additional fabric which I'll include.

If anyone would wear this, or could repurpose the material, I will happily send it to a good home. If I do say so myself, it is beautifully made! Where possible the seams are flat-felled and where that wasn't possible, or sensible, they are bound in a gold sparkly bias binding.

It's just too fancy for the boring old fart that I have become and it makes me sad to see it hanging in my wardrobe, neglected and abandoned.

Hi Donnie,

Such a great idea, I know so many people have makes that just sit in the back of their wardrobe.

Your Lichen Duster is a beautiful coat, I have the pattern in my stash and have been working up the courage to give it a go. I'd love to give your make the attention it deserves ❤️ @SewHayleyJane could you help us to connect?
