Hello all, been awhile, not doing much sewing these days. Our son was in a car accident two weeks ago while he was away on an exercise in Alberta. Long story short, everyone was okay, he sustained the worst injury and shattered his tibia. He has since had surgery and recovering well. That and trying to house train our puppy and helping out with child care where we can while my daughter in law and son (mostly my daughter in law) get prepared to move in less than 2 weeks. We also had a weeklong heatwave during all of this.

How ever I got a new to me baby lock evolution 8 thread serger/coverstitch for 690.00. Can’t wait to use her!! Take care all, see you the fall!

I am so sorry to hear this, but glad that your son is recovering. You have a lot on ypour plate!

I have a Babylock 8 thread Ovation, and wonder if it is the same (I'm in the UK). I love it, but haven't tried the Wave function yet.

Look after yourself as well as everyone else, and let us know how you are getting on.

Thanks Annie, it is the first generation of the 8 thread machines with the wave function. I haven’t had time to play yet.

I spot another Canadian. I'm in Sask. On an exercise?? Army perhaps? Hope he's feeling better soon! Don't walk too soon!!

the 8 thread for 690 is fantastic! I have an old baby lock serger that was supposedly dead 1990 version. I took it apart and fixed it, and it is a dream machine. I think it was the first model to have the air threading. I recently broke the throat plate. Looked on Ebay, and someone wanted $390 bucks just for that one part!! I glued it back together with some jbweld. So far so good. Fingers crossed.
