Subscription Box Recommendations

https://www.thefabricobsession.co.uk/the-sew-obsessed-sewscription-box from the Fabric Obsession comes with fabric, lots of extras and a choice of a warm or cool colour palette. Their fabrics are usually bold and colourful or statement pieces. You'll find lots of previous unboxings on YouTube if it would be helpful to see past boxes. (Monthly)

https://www.fabricgodmother.co.uk/dream-wardrobe/ another one that includes more than fabric - this has goodies plus a pattern usually. There are unboxings on YouTube of previous months. Usually very colourful and eye catching designs. (Monthly)

https://www.studio7t7.co.uk/the-bag-makers-box-a-sewing-subcription-box/ a bag making box includes bag making supplies but it isn't a kit - there are pattern suggestions included along with other goodies. Again lots of previous unboxings on YouTube. (bi-monthly).

Sometimes you might know what the fabric is or could be, and sometimes you might know the pattern type so it makes it more likely you'll do something with the fabric (perhaps). I've found these to be thoughtfully curated. (Sporadic availability - one off purchases and no monthly commitment)

And you have already mentioned Andrea and Beyond the Pink Door. There's the monthly subscription box, with occasional availability of any 'extra' boxes not needed for regular subscribers. You usually have to wait for someone to drop off the monthly subscription list before you can join the regular monthly box list. There's also the monthly stretch box (a jersey type fabric) which isn't a subscription and it may not be available every month depending on time of year and other factors. These stretch boxes are available at 7pm on the 15th of each month and usually sold out by 7.05pm. You have to be quick!

These are the ones I am aware of and I am sure others will chime in with their own suggestions.

I would like to offer a mention of a couple of others which aren't surprise boxes, but which have been a source of pleasure for me!

1. Guthrie & Ghani's Sewing Society kits. https://guthrie-ghani.co.uk/pages/sewing-society Nothing of a surprise in them other than what they are going to be each quarter. This year they are focusing on wardrobe staples. They don't add in anything other than what you need to complete the project (your teeth will thank you for the lack of sweet treats!!) and there's usually a top tips video from Lauren that covers the tricky bits of the make. I don't think I would be as far as I am with my own sewing without these kits and videos.

1. Flying Bobbins and her monthly project kits and sewalong club https://www.flyingbobbins.com/products/the-sew-along-club. Once again, everything you need to tackle a project you might not have done, without a little support. The kits are entirely optional but contain everything you need and there's usually an extensive choice of fabrics and colours, and the sewalongs are amazingly comprehensive.

Both of the kit services make it easy - you know you have the right pattern, fabric, fastenings, interfacing etc and in the right quantities, and you have the tutorials. You just need to cut out and sew!
