I find it so interesting that some patterns go viral... sometimes for reasons I don't always understand. What I'd love to know is have you hopped on the bandwagon for a particular pattern and was it worth the hype?
Trending Patterns - Did You Hop On The Bandwagon?
I hopped on the Matchy Matchy Sewing Club Kite Pants bandwagon. Honestly the Matchy Matchy Sewing Club as a whole is perfect. Their patterns are well thought out, aimed at the beginner sewist. I consider myself intermediate, but I don’t choose patterns bases on skill level. We love what we love and a quick sew is a bonus. Matchy Matchy offers a nice cohesive mix of patterns, natural fabrics, and notions (exclusive garment tags are adorable). Back to their Kite Pants, my Kite Pants entry won a first place ribbon at our state fair. The judge stated she wished she could keep them 🥹Lastly, they offer some of their own video tutorials as well as Sew Happy YouTube channel offers several more.
I like several of MM patterns too - including the Kite Pants. My favourite is the Playdate Blouse. I’m just finishing my third. This last one is made without the collar for a more paired down, but still fancy, look 🙂
I like the Kite pants subtle barrel leg. I just purchased the Recess Pants and got the new Benchwarmer Tee free during their Labor Day sale. Did u see the Ruffle Brunch Set? So cute!
I have jumped on the bandwagon twice when I knew in my heart that the patterns weren’t really my thing. The first was the Ogden Tank, now sold. The second, the Saltwater Slip Dress. I still own it, but it stairs at me unmade 🙄 I have the Tessuti Annie and Romy Dress patterns, but sleeveless, strappy pull on dresses. I have made the Romy and really like it (to be shared soon), so I doubt I’ll make the SWSD.
I hope on the bandwagon all the time with patterns lol
The Madrone pants! I loved the look of the examples and the oversized look, but when I made some, they just looked like clown trousers and I hated them!
I have been thinking of jumping on the Avenue Shorts patterns. I have an hourglass figure and 71 year old legs. Has anyone made them? Thoughts.
