Hi everyone, just hopping on to explain and apologise for the ~2 hour downtime today. You may or may not have seen in the news that there was a bug discovered in the programming language PHP that supports about 70-80% of websites on the internet. Unfortunately that includes us as well.
Out of an abundance of caution I switched off the ThreadySetGo server for a couple of hours while we waited for updates to become available for our systems just to make sure there was no way in for any would be hacker.
The simplest way to explain it is if you imagine there's a blueprint that 80% of builders use for houses, only it turns out there's a wonky brick in one of the walls that nobody noticed while following the blueprints. Today the news came out that this wonky brick existed in everyone's houses and so millions of developers have rushed to fix it before dodgy people started coming round to check for it and see if they could get in.
Nothing suspicious has occured and there has been no breach on our systems related to this bug - but as always it's better to be safe than sorry! I'll monitor the server closely and keep an eye out for any issues due to the updates.
