Machine needles.

Hi 

I have a singer machine and the needle broke but when I put the new needle in I can't use the machine the needle is off so it can't go through the feed dog it's like it's to long but I've tried everything to get it working.

Hi Ann - when the needle broke did the part that broke off drop down into the machine under the feed dogs?

It sounds like you either haven't undone the needle screw enough to push the needle up to the top of the needle shank, I would try unscrewing the needle screw a little more and try to load the needle again. Also make sure no needle parts are in the dogs like Haley said earlier.
