The Purple Thang Tool

Has anyone come across this "Purple Thang" tool? I'd love to know if you have and what your favourite way to use it is?!

I got one recently and I use it to jimmy the fabric under the presser foot as I've been known to put my finger in the wrong place and when the needle comes down the screwbit that stick out (you know the but you twiddle to undo/replace the needle) squishes my finger (and it has force!), also used to to push out corners since its smaller/thinner it gets right up in the corner.

honestly I like it but its not been a massive game changer for me (not yet anyway)

Ah yes... I have had that same injury before! Yeh I haven't yet found out it's true potential I don't think. Waiting for inspiration

its really good for threading elastic through instead of using a safety pin. Only takes smaller elastic though

Yes, I have. I got a packet of 5 from Amazon in different colours. It's like having an extra hand for hold the fabric close to the needle. The pointy end I use to help ease corners out. I think you can use it to thread elastic through and as a hump jumper. Ruan did a YouTube on various other uses. It's one tool I wouldn't be without tbh 😊

I definitely love using it as an extra hand to hold fabric close to the needle!

I've seen it but used a bamboo chopstick instead to encourage thicker fabric to be a bit flatter before it goes under the presser foot.
