I suck a remembering to post in this wonderful community! 🤦 But I remembered! 😂
Anyway!
As part of a pattern swap with Natalie from @nurturehandmade on YouTube, I made my first knit dress... Well dresses... Or garments! 😅
I pretty much avoid knit garments, I just never ventured into them when I started sewing so I'd built up a bit of nervousness around them and also previous attempts, and there's been a few, haven't been great at all! 🤦
So I made the Kiara Knit Dress by Just Patterns in 3 different fabrics!
The first was a yellow knit, which I followed the pattern instructions to the letter and made a dress, whereas the latter 2 I made as a top and skirt to wear separately and make them more wearable for me!
The black is a thick fleecey back knit fabric, which is very cosy but has gotten seriously bobbly after 2 wears! 🤦🤦 Despite the bobbling, it's giving rich auntie vibes! 😂😂
And my favourite is the patterned fabric which is farm rio deadstock from rainbow Fabrics (as of 10/04/26 they have some left), I was super worried about placement for this piece and also sewing up as this fabric is so slinky!
But it is absolutely and totally my favourite!
