Neurodivergent &Dyslexic Friendly Patterns
Hi Becky - How do you find video tutorials? A lot of pattern companies will offer either a really comprehensive video tutorial separately to the pattern or they do a sew-along on YouTube but these don't often talk you through the techniques.
I am building up the video library here of technique tutorials as well.
For beginner friendly patterns most will recommend Tilly and the Buttons - start with the Jamie PJ bottoms or the Samara top.

thanks Hayley i will look at the links later
i find video tutorials very helpful as i`m a visual learner i will have a look at some of yours
A fellow neuro divergent here but without the dyslexia - I can relate to half of your pain and am sending a large hug.
Hayley's tutorials are brilliant on here and, as I think has been mentioned, Tilly and the Buttons usually have excellent tutorials.
https://www.flyingbobbins.com/ puts out a kit every month with a really, really detailed set of video tutorials that begin with pattern preparation, sizing & fit, and takes everything slowly step by step. There's a tab on her site where you can just buy the tutorials.
https://lovenotions.com also have a lot of sew-alongs to accompany their patterns.
Also, I suggest joining our sewing socials if you can. I'm not particularly knowledgeable, but there are a lot of members here, who regularly show up at the socials, who really know everything about the sewing process, and they are all so generous with their time/advice/help.
And don't be afraid to reach out on here if you are ever really stuck and need help in the moment - I am sure somebody will jump on and assist.
You didn't ask for a lot of that advice (I just can't help myself!). Give us a bit more information about what you'd like to make - a top? A dress? Dog pyjamas? (the latter may just be me....🤣) and I will gladly post some of the patterns I managed to muddle my way through in my early days.
thanks for that Donnie i will look at the links and look at joining the sewing socials
i`m looking at making some simply tops to start with and slowly grew from there
