Earlier this year I said I wanted to try a different jeans pattern, as I have used my previous one several times. I decided it would be a great project to take to my sewing retreat last weekend. I got some cheap stretch denim to make a wearable toile.

The pattern has different pieces for apple/pear pelvis and straight/skinny leg. I made the pear/skinny combination and adjusted the crotch curve (using my previous pattern) before cutting out. I was pleased that only minor alterations on the hips were necessary.

I am really happy with how these turned out and I'm planning to make another pair soon

I found this pattern worked well for me, with these adjustments:

I used the apple front and pear back (yes, I'm a dumpling!) and I had to adjust the yoke a lot, but once I got it right, it made all the difference.

It's so exciting to get it right! For me, I'm pleased when I get things almost right. The Cashmerette jeans pattern I have is a Club pattern, but I haven't tried to sew them. I'm making a fit muslin of Love Notions Legato Jeans and because my waist/hip ratio puts between their measurements for the pattern's "curvy" and "straight" yoke and waistband sets, I will probably need to reshape my yoke.

Wendy this is fantastic! I have had this pattern for the longest time and still haven't sewn them up, I have the fabric waiting and everything!
