I was unsure about this frock, but it is perfect for our holiday! The fabric is a cotton ikat weave, bought from the much missed Offset Warehouse, I had to cut across the width because that's how the stripes run.
I made a bodice toile, and thought I didn't need to do a skirt one. However, in the 16 years since I last made a frock, I had forgotten how it affects the hang. In the end I had to sew up the front and decorate with 2 buttons. That works well.
I also reached into the past and made underarm protectors like my mum used to, to cut down on washing.
Now to add the photo my husband took today, fingers crossed!
