Share Your Sewing Room Project Diaries!

I am loving hearing about all the Sewing Rooms and Project Diaries being set up over the last 24 hours!

If you've set yours up let us know about it here - if it's public we can click on your name in the thread and see what you're up to! We will be making a shareable/searchable feature very soon but wanted to get the main feature up and running first for people to use!

I would also love your help spreading the word, you already know how amazing it is here but there are lots of people who still don't! I've created some images for you to grab - save to your photos and share on social media to let people know where the calm and inspiring corner of the internet is for those who love to sew!

I've added a vingage project into my sewing room and I already feel more organised and motivated! I'm also enjoying clicking on random names and seeing what people have been working on.

I do like this tool very much, and I was just looking for the sewing room thread soi I could ask if there was a way for us to visit each other's "rooms" - so top notch timing, there.

This is great Hayley. However, I (and maybe others) have my fabrics detailed on stash hub and I can’t face relisting it all. I wonder if it might be possible to develop the ability to import from there? 🤔

Hi Annie, yes you can download a set of CSVs from StashHub (or any other apps!) and then we have the ability to import it into your stash if you go to the main stash page and then click on "Import" in the top right.

I can’t figure out how to do it Hayley. Are there instructions anywhere?

For downloading the CSVs from Stash Hub? Or importing it into here?

Hi Annie, please don't be embarrased at all! It's all a work in progress so I'll continue improving everything to make it as user friendly as possible.

Regarding StashHub, they have some information here about downloading CSV files: https://help.stashhubapp.com/en/article/export-stash-hub-data-as-csv-files-f2yceh/ - I believe it's a Plus only feature though, so not available to their free account users.

In terms of importing, there's a couple of routes to do so. If you haven't added any stash items as yet you can go to your Sewing Room and then there's a blue import button on the "add items" area, or if you already have some stash items, you can click "View the whole stash". (I've attached some images for what you should see in these scenarios).

Once you get to the Stash Import screen you can select the CSV (spreadsheet) files that you get from StashHub or indeed any other platform and then click next.

The first thing to do is select the type of item you're importing, e.g Fabric, Notions, Patterns or Trimmings.

Once that's chosen the system does it's best to automatically map the CSV to ThreadySetGo's style but you can always customise it or select from the dropdowns manually to make sure the details go into the right places.

Once you're happy with where things will go, you can click next and it will show you an example preview list of what things will likely come out like on the other end so you can confirm it before going ahead. If you're happy you can click "Import X Item(s)" on the final screen and it will go ahead and bring those all in for you.

If you run into any trouble at all please do let us know and we'll be more than happy to help. I know Hayley is making some videos at the moment to do some guides on how particular bits of the new system work, but always here to lend a hand any time!

I think this is a great tool. It wasn’t difficult at all to make a start and I used it to be accountable in my aim to use some less-loved stash fabrics instead of the shiny new arrivals! And the more I use the sewing room, the more useful it’s going to be. And it looks so beautiful to use too. Very many thanks.

I"ve easukt loaded my csv files from Stash Hub with the patterns and the fabrics. I just have to add the pictures. I love the fact of just taking notes in the diary. I never found a good solution for me.
