Bikini

I finally finished the bikini, the fit is not perfect but it's very wearable. I'm seeing this as a safe place to post a picture, I took it to send to my sister hence the goofy smile 😂

I initially used the clear elastic but it is an absolute nightmare to pin and keep in the right place, so I ordered the hemline woven swimwear elastic from sew essential and used it around the armholes. It's much easier to control.

I'm hoping to make another one before my holiday, which means a fabric order 😬

Good to know about the swimwear elastic! We are on a mission to book a holiday so making swimwear is on the list! 😅

Also super random side note... I had no idea sew over it had a pattern named Zahra particularly spelt like that too, as that's my sisters name! 🤭

Ah thanks Jasmin, I got the elastic tip from Alison @sewlikedotty but had the clear stuff in my stash and ran out (thankfully 😂).

Swimwear is not as hard as I thought, it's just I'm cack handed with elastic 😂

You look adorable! What a lovely fit and pattern. I especially like how the bra part looks supportive. I assumed at over sixty I would always have to wear a one-piece; but I am tall and hate the way it feels on my stomach! You gave me inspiration to try a two piece again on my next suit and maybe even make a similar pattern. Well done!
