Excited to be sharing everything I wear throughout May, I've just been filming a YouTube video on tummy friendly sewing patterns I wear all the time so I've actually worn about 10 different outfits already today!
Me Made May 2026
Friday 1st May
Having finished filming my YouTube video I have settled for the rest of the day on my S.O Sew Dressmaking Emily blouse in this beautiful Lise Tailor viscose made last year
I love this pattern, it's one of three versions and the only with the puffball sleeves which I think are so cute! I might have made the peplum on this one a smidge too long but I love it. Paired with RTW jeans although I'd love to make some simple Sew Liberated Chanterelle pants in solid colours to go with everything!
It's beautiful and you look lovely in it!
Lovely Hayley 👌
Saturday 2nd May
Super casual today for a Saturday at home, just wrapped up this mornings sewing social which was a pure joy!
I’m wearing Closet Core Pietra pants in a vintage cotton and a Sew Over It Ultimate T-shirt which has become my go-to for a fitted t-shirt.
This morning I finally hemmed my Silversaga Eleanora dress too so that is now ready to wear
Forgot to add the photo!!
This makes a beautiful silhouette on you - very chic. And, I cannot tell you how much I love the Eleanora dress. It fits you perfectly and looks stunning. Well done for persisting with all of that sewing!!
Sunday 3rd May
Another casual weekend look - I’m taking Mia swimming this afternoon so definitely no jeans or leggings and I don’t have any athleisure wear!
So linen-viscose Falconer pants by Helen’s Closet - the fabric grew after finishing so I added some elastic into the back of the waistband!
And a very old Sew Over It Alex shirt, again in a linen viscose from Sewisfaction back in the day!
Monday 4th May (bank holiday)
A little different today as I spent the morning cleaning and pottering in me made miss-matched pjs.
But then we headed out for a little photoshoot to get snaps of my Silversaga Eleanora dress. I feel absolutely fabulous in this dress, made in a cotton poplin from Roo-tid.
This dress was actually two years in the making as it got relegated to the WIP box - pressing the curved neckline to create the elastic channel was so frustrating!
I would 100% make this again though, but in something with much more drape like viscose - the poplin holds the shape in the dramatic sleeves but also the skirt wants to ride up as I walk!
Big thanks to amazing photographer hubby Andy for the gorgeous photos, we got some lovely ones of Mia and his parents at the same time
Looks absolutely amazing on you
So gorgeous 👌
Lovely to see this on you, after hearing about it.
Tuesday 5th May
Today I’m wearing my Tilly and the Buttons Nell dress in a dashwood studio fabric that was in my stash a good 6 years!
Added a Sew Over It Ultimate T-shirt underneath as I got cold!!
I love this dress, really want to make a maxi version as well. Side ties to cinch in at the waist
nice idea to wear the t shirt underneath
Really love the fabric and I'm more than a little envious that you have your style nailed Hayley. You always look lovely in your me-mades.
Thank you Donnie, I'd say it's a work in progress though, I'm not always sure I do have my style nailed. I love shorter dresses in the autumn and winter with leggings and boots, and long dresses in the summer with bare legs. But this weather has me a little stumped as it's not warm enough for bare legs yet, but boots don't feel right in the spring either!
And shoes are so difficult nowadays as well! I find it really difficult to combine comfort and style! Much prefer those autumn months when we can pull on boots but still have a glimpse of the sun!!!
Absolutely! I love boots in autumn and winter
Super cute combo 😍
I have Nell Dress envy, I made one but the bodice is too long so will take it off and shorten it, another one for the WIP pile :)
Thursday 7th May
One week through already!! I missed yesterday, I was filming a video for YouTube showing loads of different makes so it was definitely a Me Made day!
Today I am wearing my Helen's Closet Falconer Pants with a S.O Sew Dressmaking Emily blouse. I don't wear these jeans as much as I was hoping, I think I struggle styling them as they are very wide leg and I don't like wearing tops tucked into jeans, so trying to figure out the best way of wearing them. I think I like this look
The jeans look great and I think there's just enough fittedness (if there is such a word) in the blouse to balance out the wide legs. I also think the difference in fabric weights help. Very clever styling!! I shall make a note of it!!
Lovely 👌
Looove wide leg jeans. Have you thought about partial tuck- basically something tacked over front of 1 leg on a width of around 5 cm and rest leg loose? I often wear my rtw wide leg jeans this way.
Also things that are finishing at or slightly below the waistband of those trousers, jumpers with bands on the bottom or maybe a shirt tied at the front or loose open shirt contrast colour tank top underneath
I looove wide leg jeans 😍
Yesterday we heading out into the New Forest for breakfast and to take some more fancy photos of the Tilly and the Buttons Mabel top I made.
I did lengthen the peplum and it is comfortable but think I’d lengthen it further still next time!
Bonus photo of the New Forest wildlife that have complete free reign!
Lovely as always. I think a longer peplum would be perfect to give it a bit of swish!! The fabric is very pretty.
Can you believe it was already lengthened by 2inches?! I have to admit, I did pull the wrong jeans on in the morning!!
That caught me by surprise. It was more of a frill than a peplum in my mind then (before you lengthened it!)
I fancied dressing up a bit cute today for no one other than myself as Mia is home so not even a school run!
This is the Cinnamon Daisy Poppy dress with a little cardi I purchased from Sew Over It back in the old Lisa Comfort days.
I also made the little wired headband too.
Mia told me she loved my outfit and that it made me look 32 (6 whole years off!!)
Very cute! I love the way you smile at the camera!
Aw thanks Donnie!!
A slight change in weather today means digging out this True Bias Marlo cardigan in cable knit from Lamazi, a firm cosy favourite!
Looks so cosy 😍
It is super cosy!! I love it - in the winter I wear it with fleece-lined leggings!
Friday 15th May
Another cold and wet day here, so I’ve been in rtw jeans and my old favourite Billie sweatshirt from Tilly and the Buttons - this has had so much wear and is definitely looking pretty shabby these days when you get close
It’s lovely Hayley - really like the shape of the sleeves.
