Hi Hayley, I'm making a dress in a viscose/linen fabric. You have suggested to use a ballpoint needle for viscose fabrics. I have a jersey needle which I understand is a type of ballpoint needle, would a jersey needle work with the type of fabric I'm using?

I would test it out on a scrap of your fabric first to check it doesn't snag or pull at all. Otherwise I'd use a regular or sharps needle
