About this make

After the heatwave this week I have realised that a lot of my maxi dresses I have made with full length sleeves... which I cannot stand in 30+ temperatures! So I will be using the Cobra Corsage viscose challis which is super lightweight and floaty to make a maxi Nell with the flutter sleeves. This might also be nice to wear to a 50th birthday party I am heading to in July! I have made this pattern twice before, once as a blouse and once as a knee length dress

    It's taken me absolutely ages to get around to making this but it is finally started! The skirt pieces are constructed minus the interfacing still to go on the centre front, and gathering stitches are ready. The neckline facing is attached - I used my favourite method of applying interfacing by sewing the interfacing to the facing around the outside edge and then folding it to the inside and fusing in place. This creates a lovely finish. I also topstitched the facing to the neckline to stop it flipping.
