About this make

I have used this pattern to make quite a number of dinosaurs, most if which are tucked up in a toy hammock but I’ve made some as gifts for family and friends.     Team dragons are in progress, really happy with how the wings have turned out. I’m using toy joints to add the arms on so they are the next stage before sewing the heads up.

    2nd draft Adjusted the spikes and like these much better. I tried stuffing the wings a little bit but don’t like the effect of that. So I will Be going with the wings as per the green dragon with a bit more interfacing and the spikes on the blue one.

    Prototype Really happy with the first draft of the dragon. The wings turned out really well, they do stand up but not quite as much as I would like. The spikes didn’t turn out that well down the back so small edit required there.

    Drafting pattern pieces I need to add wings and I want to add spikes going down the back and tail. An online search helped to find the shape of wing that I wanted and I also wanted to include the tendon(?!) raised lines on the inside of the wing so I drafted a back wing and a front wing, the front being in 3 pieces to create seam lines. I made an easy edit to the head spikes, the original pattern has rounded pieces so I made those into triangles and then created a pattern piece to extend the spikes down the whole body.
