About this make

Using a lovely light double gauze fabric. I’m not worrying about pattern matching at this stage, it looks a little bit too complicated for me right now and it’ll only be worn to bed 😁. This is a free pattern that I found online which has YouTube video instructions.

Finished off my shorts and love them! Made a teeny tiny error when sewing the elastic waste band, so unpicked and amended.

Didn’t have much time today, so just cut the pattern and attached the pocket bags to each front and back section. Tomorrow I’ll finish it off.

Wash & iron fabric
Cut pattern
Overlock pocket bags
Attach pocket bags to each front and back panel
Press pocket seam
Pin both front panels to both back panels
Sew along the side seam and around the pocket bags
pin and stitch the inseam, then overlock
Take one of the short sides and fold it right sides out, leaving the other side right sides together.
Place the side which is folded right side out, inside the other so that right sides of each side are together
Then match along the curved edge to pin them together
Then stitch around the curve
Measure out how much elastic needed by placing around waist, not too tight as it's sleepwear
Turn and press top edge 1cm, then press again enough room for the elastic to fit through.
Sew around top edge leaving a 2" space. Feed through the elastic in this space, zigzag the elastic short edges together so they don't come apart, then stitch close the opening..
