Barrel jeans

Got the keg panels sewn and topstitched, and the fly sewn. It’s looking really good so far. A couple more hours and I’ll be done.

I made a toile of one leg yesterday and it’s surprisingly a good fit. By measurement I’m mostly a size 14, with size 22 waist. Hourglass not. I cut a size 16, and added 1/4” to the middle front seams, and the top of the side seams. Effectively making them go straight up. I increased the waistband of course. 7.5 cm on each side. Grading the curve to a good shape. I never like how billowy pants get at the top of the thigh, because of needing room for apron belly. Because these pants have a seam down the centre of the leg, I pinned out a bit of the excess. It does cup around my belly a bit, but I think it looks good. I’m trying it. There’s a point when “hiding figure faults” becomes “I don’t deserve to be looked at”. I chose a quilting cotton for pockets and leg facings cuz why not?
