About this make

Using this pattern drafting course from Arkdefo: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLd-3ujocaqauV_H0YJFnhxwRZB4l6-QGN&si=HFBXTq85rcyLeuxw I have stretchy knit fabric. Its not cotton jersey, which is recommended in the course, but I dont have that and dont want to buy now.

    Taking a Break. Version 3 was the last pair I made. Making good progress. In the meantime I am watching videos to learn where I can improve

    Today I learned to make sure to cut the fabric on the fold. On the grainline. To make sure that I'm not cutting away my seam allowance either. Trying not to think of this as wasted fabric, but as something I learnt. Will iron and cut out fabric tomorrow. Possibly even sew tomorrow.

    Cut out version 2 of the underwear. Made the adjustments.

    Made version 1 last night. Things to note: The zigzag stitch is kinda insane. Played around with the stitch width, length and also the tension and the tension was too high for it. A tension of 3 was the last practice run and it looked great. When I fitted the tests on, they sat too low. Need to increase the side seam height. The crotch depth was too wide. Its a 4 way stretch material and Im wondering if the different directions have different stretch factors. The underwear was definitely too loose for me. Need to increase the stretch factor. Will test again. I enjoyed myself last night. Cutting the fabric smaller first and then cutting out the fabric worked out much better
