Shorts

So I got as far as the trying on stage. Most of it was good but I do need to add more at the hips and lengthen the back crotch. Quite good for a trial. Their curvy cut isn't as curvy as I am!!

I did the front fly today. I followed the instructions step by step and they were ok and worked. However there is a lot of bulk at the front overlap as the fly is sewn on and the two pocket pieces are sewn in here also. I think I will alter the pattern to have a grown on fly extension and just cut off the opposite side. I was advised to cut a smaller size for this pattern but looking at the pieces I think I may have sized down too much..... Still, that's what a test garment is for.

I cut out the shorts and started to assemble them. So far the pattern is good with notches matching up and everything aligning nicely. Sadly the fabric is not the best - a bouncy polyester - and the pockets show through. However, I will persevere.
