Floral summer dress

I've been plugging away at this dress in any cool moment I can spare. Today I hand sewed a wrinkle that I managed to sew in to place when adding the skirt to the bodice - I decided against undoing all the overlocking and doing it properly and just smoothed it out. Then I did the hem - all 107" (272cms) of it. First I used my silicone hem pressing tool to turn up the overlocked edge then I blind hemmed it on my machine. It seemed to go on for ever and I was getting hotter and hotter so I had to leave it for the day. Next are the buttonholes - but not today in this heat.

I got up early this morning to cut this out before it got too hot. I had 4m of 54" fabric (excuse the mixed units of measurement I grew up using both and inter change them often!!)I only just managed to get the sleeveless version out of it. I didn't have enough for the collar. I did cut out the bodice twice as I fully line it rather than messing with facings. I'm also hoping the poppies behave themselves in the chest area.
