Just wondering if everyone Sergers / Overlocks their seam allowances before sewing the seam and if yes, what happens to your notches and seam alignment markings ? - many thanks :)

I often do this, depending on the fabric. I tend to mark notches with frixion pens so they generally still show up

Yes, depending on the part of garment. If I'm adding pockets to a side seam for example I'll overlock all the pocket edges and side seams. I do have to hunt out the notches though. But I saw someone on here markes the notches with a bit of washi tape - sews through it and then tears it off after. Frixion pens are definitely a good option too!
