I've been away from sewing for some time and now sewing with fabrics I've never used before. I'm trying to sew a very narrow hem on a stretch jersey fabric and, despite pinning, when I sew the pressure foot pushes the fabric away from the needle. Argghh so frustrating

Do you need to reduce the presser foot pressure?
Another thought would be to use hemming tape like Wundaweb to glue the hem in place before top stitching
