Hi Nolwenn,
Oh no this is really tough, but I can guarantee you - you’re not alone in this one. There have been so many projects that I’ve made that have ended up unworn.
This has largely improved the more I have sewn and the more I understand what I like to wear and what works for me. (That’s not to say it never happens, it just doesn’t happen as much!)
For me, I think the biggest thing was learning there is a difference between fabrics I love and fabrics I love to wear.
I can love and be drawn to a fabric the same way you would be art, or textiles you might have in your home, but they are very different to the ones I actually want to wear.
Same goes for patterns, I’ve learnt a lot over the years about what I enjoy wearing and it certainly isn’t the latest trending pattern.
If you’re a beginner or don’t sew much a lot of people want to sew beautiful dresses or tops in beautiful fabrics and then find they don’t have an occasion to wear It.
I would suggest looking at what you do wear, if you wear a lot of T-shirts or sweatshirts - make one of those - staple pieces that you’ll wear loads. And then build from there.
I hope that helps, I might be on completely the wrong track
