Creative Sewing Show At The Nec

I’ve just got home from the NEC sewing show, I go twice a year and love it, I spend far too much money on buying fabric I don’t really need but life is too short eh 😂 just got to hide my goodies from my husband later! Now to decide what to make! X

I was there as well! I really felt that the atmosphere was much more lively than the the last few (post-Covid) years! A huge thank you to the accessibility team who are so friendly and helpful, makes all the difference to enjoying the show. I talked to Mark Francis (I made his Inverness Cape)and some of the interesting textile graduates. I bought fabric from the Rosenbergs (crepe de chine for a top and contrasting linen for trousers). There was an embroidery project, and the photo I took to capture the name didn't come out, but the main picture did. Look at the bottom left corner - the chap who looks as if he's part of the canvas! Maybe someone else will tell us about it.

Yes, I do, I'm not over keen on the 'crafty' stuff. Once a year is great for me, but I hate that it co-incides with Cheltenham (and it's very crowded at the weekend). I do thik though, that i spend more on fabric than on unsuccessful bets!

I only go into the 'crafty' side to get the flapjacks from Flapjackery!! Travelling by train when it's Cheltenham week is fun when you live so close to Cheltenham though!!

And wasn't the tapestry artists name something like Nehro or Nehu -or have I got that completely wrong? I know I thought his name was like the collar which is why I (half) remembered it.

I went on Friday and thoroughly enjoyed it - apart from the trains not playing nicely.

I didn't buy any fabric but I did buy a sewing machine! It's just so lovely to be inspired by all the exhibitors. I came back with some ideas....

I bought the Janome 6700p which will be delivered next Wednesday. I've been looking at it for a few years so not an impulse buy!!
